Porchlight comes from Assertive Agency, where we run SEO, Google Ads and Meta Ads for local businesses. Doing that work every day, we kept running into the same problem with social media for local businesses.
The empty page problem
We'd send a new client lots of calls from Google, and then a customer would check their Facebook or Instagram before booking. What did they find? A last post from eight months ago. Sometimes a holiday greeting from two winters back.
These were great businesses with happy customers. They just didn't have time. Writing and designing posts every week is a job of its own, and it always loses to the work that pays today.
Why the usual fixes don't stick
- Doing it yourself works for a month, then busy season arrives.
- Hiring an agency is expensive for a small business, and the posts often look generic.
- Template tools still need you to write, pick photos and design, and every business ends up looking the same.
What we wanted instead
We wanted something a busy owner could use in five minutes a month. It had to know their business without a long questionnaire, look like their brand without a designer, and never post anything they hadn't approved.
That became Porchlight. You paste your website, it learns what you do and how you look, and it designs a month of posts. You swipe through, keep the ones you like, and they go out on schedule.
Honest by design
Because we work with law firms, clinics and trades, we built in the rules that matter: no invented reviews, no made-up prices, no promised results. Useful tips and real proof win customers over time, so that's what Porchlight writes.
What it means for your week
Instead of staring at a blank caption box on a Sunday night, you spend five minutes a month swiping. Your Google profile stays fresh, your Facebook page looks alive, and new customers see a business that's open and looking after people. That's the whole point.
A light left on
The name comes from a simple idea. A porch light tells people someone's home and open. Your social pages should do the same, even when you're busy doing the actual work.
Made for owners and agencies
Porchlight works for a single shop and for agencies like ours. One login can hold several businesses, each with its own brand, posts and calendar, so you can switch between clients in a click.
If that sounds like your business, try Porchlight free. Ten posts a month, no card needed.
